Coventry rapist spotted on train seven years after attack

Kifueni KadiabiokoA child rapist caught when his victim's aunt saw him on a train seven years later has been jailed.

Kifueni Kadiabioko, 41, admitted in court to raping the 12-year-old girl in Willenhall, Coventry, in October 2004.

Kadiabioko was spotted by the girl's aunt as he got on a train at Euston in February this year, police said.

Police arrested the defendant, from London, at Northampton station after the victim's aunt called 999, Coventry Crown Court was told.

Last month Kadiabioko, of Clarendon Road, London, pleaded guilty to three charges of false imprisonment, raping the girl and assaulting her.

'Fantastic spot'

He was jailed for 11 years and three months for each offence, to run concurrently.

He will also remain on the Sex Offenders' Register indefinitely.

Det Con Deb McCord said Kadiabioko, who had been known to the girl's family, had dragged his victim into his car as she walked home from school and then took her to a flat where he attacked her.

She said police believed he then fled to Essex and London after fearing the girl would tell her family about what had happened.

Ms McCord added it had been a "fantastic spot" by the girl's aunt to recognise Kadiabioko on the train.

She said: "She should also be praised for her restraint in not challenging Kadiabioko and making her 999 call discretely so as not to alert him."
