ABEOKUTA — Police in Ogun State are yet to unravel the mystery surrounding the death of former Chairman of Ikeja Local Government in Lagos State and former Special Adviser to Governor Babatunde Fashola on Health, Toyin Hamzat, who was killed last Sunday at Sabo, Sagamu in Ogun State.
According to sources, none of those arrested in connection with the killing had made confessional statement as at yesterday, but the Police in Ogun, have given the assurance that they will work on information at their disposal to unravel the mystery.
In a telephone conversation with Vanguard, yesterday, Police spokesman in Ogun State, Assistant Superintendent of Police ASP, Muyiwa Adejobi, said investigations were ongoing as regards the killing.
He pleaded with the general public to be patient, saying the Police are up to the task in handling the case.
He added: “We are still investigating; this is a criminal case which needs proper investigation. People should be patient with us”.
The politician was reportedly shot in the head at Sabo, Sagamu, last Sunday after leaving Sagamu Town Club, venue of a meeting and was heading for his residence in Ijebu-Ayepe, Ogun State when he met his untimely death.
