Jerusalem - Nigerian pilgrims on Wednesday in Jerusalem, Israel, visited the tomb where Jesus was buried and resurrected.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the pilgrims had earlier visited the Antonio Fortress, the courtyard where Jesus was tried before Pontus Pilate and sentenced to death.
From the Fortress the pilgrims proceeded to Golgotha, where Jesus was crucified, and prayed at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, built over the burial place of Jesus.
The pilgrims also visited the Pool of Bethesda, where Jesus healed a man, who had been bedridden for many years.
Beside the pool is the Church of St. Anne, dedicated to Anne, the grandmother of Jesus Christ.
"Many people passed through the gate but did not help the sick man, but Jesus came by and healed him.
"Pray that Jesus will not pass you by," Venerable Peter Ogunmuyiwa said in a brief sermon at the church.
