Police Arrest 10 Suspects over Rotimi’s Wife’s Kidnap

1111N.Police-Headquarters.jpg - 1111N.Police-Headquarters.jpgOyo State Police Command Wednesday said 10 persons have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping of Titilayo, the wife of the former military governor of the defunct Western State, Brig.-Gen. Oluwole Rotimi (rtd).
This came as investigation by THISDAY revealed that the kidnappers have demanded a N200 million ransom from the family.
Titilayo was kidnapped by about four armed men, while retiring from her office.
The kidnappers, in a green Nissan Primera car at about 6.30p.m. on Monday at the gate to her company, AOK Logistics Limited, whisked her away.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Ayodele Lanade, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ibadan.
“As we speak, we have arrested a total number of 10 persons. Five of them were arrested on December 11, while the other five were arrested on Wednesday.
“I can assure you that serious investigations are going on by both the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) and the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS),” he said.
When asked if any member of staff of the victim was among those arrested, Lanade said that such information could not be presently divulged.
“I cannot tell you all that you may wish to know in order not to impede ongoing investigation.”
Meanwhile, THISDAY gathered that the family is, however, keeping the ransom money demand away from the police.
