Christians rejoice over Suntai’s photos

It was double celebration in Jalingo as the new year celebration coincided with the posting of Governor Danbaba Danfulani Suntai’s photographs on the social media, but all was done under tight security.
Most churches in the state capital dedicated several minutes to giving praises to God for the information posted on the Facebook wall of Emmanuel Ishaku and was uploaded by  hundreds of people.
The photograph shows the governor seated with his wife Hauwa and their new-born twins in Germany, giving hope to the fact that the governor is fast recovering.
At St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mayogoi Jalingo, the  spirit of the congregation went very high when the presiding priest, Rev. Fr. James Vontih, broke the news that the said pictures of the governor were posted yesterday.
The story was not different at Unity Chapel in the Government House, Jalingo, when the congregation were informed by their minister, Pastor Ishaya Bambur, who presided over the new year activities in the church.
Pastor Sqailer Maigoge led the congregation in rejoicing,  singing praises, saying the Lord has done something great to the people of Taraba state at the beginning  of 2013 as the picture of the ailing governor came handy with the new year.
Our correspondent observed that in all the worship centers visited, the churches were heavily guarded by armed security men who conducted thorough search on worshippers before allowing them entry into the churches.
When contacted on phone, the state  Police Public Relation Officer, DSP Amos Olaoye, said the state command of the Nigerian police was only carrying out its duty of protecting life and property,
He charged the public to report suspicious movements to security agents.
