PDP BoT chair: Jonathan settles for Anenih

As the battle for the chairmanship position of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustee (BoT) intensify, Blueprint gathered that President Goodluck Jonathan has finally settled for Tony Anenih as his candidate for the position.
The election will hold today in Abuja to determine who emerges as the winner.
It was also gathered that the Presidency and the party had made arrangement for plan B in case the choice of Anenih did not appeal to members of the board.
Shuaib Oyedokun from the South-west, whose posters dotted the party national secretariat and Emmanuel Iwanyanwu from the South-east are the candidates on the waiting list, but it was also learnt that the choice of Oyedokun would be highly favoured if the choice of Anenih did not work out.
With this arrangement, former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s candidate, Amodu Ali, has lost out completely from clinching any position as it was further gathered that effort by the party and Ali to prevail on the board secretary, Walid Jibrin, to step down for him as the secretary failed.
The rightful candidate for the BoT chairman has pitched President Jonathan against former President Olusugun, while Jonathan is rooting for Anenih, Olusegun backs Ali as the right choice for the position.

It was also gathered that if the arrangement made by the party to have a BoT chairman failed, the party would opt for acting chairman and secretary that would take charge of the board pending when arrangement would be made for another election.
