Yakowa, promoter of peace – Tambuwal
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, yesterday said late Governor Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa of Kaduna state, who died last weekend in a helicopter crash, was a peace lover.
Tambuwal said this when he paid a condolence visit on the wife of the late governor, Dame Elizabeth Amina Yakowa, in Kaduna.
He prayed to God to grant Yakowa eternal rest.
Tambuwal said: “His death is a great loss for Kaduna state and for Nigeria. Late Governor Yakowa was a promoter of peace, who was committed to the development of the state and the nation. He respected people and was always available for service to the people.
“The country has truly lost a very fine and noble gentleman; he was a seasoned administrator and a man of peace.
“He has left his footprints on the sand of time. To lead Kaduna state government the way he did in the last three years shows the quality of a good leader. He was a good listener.
“I pray almighty God to grant him eternal rest, forgive him and grant his family the fortitude to bear the loss.”
