Police declares Nwaforagu wanted over alleged robbery, kidnapping

AWKA—Anambra State police command declared, yesterday, one Mr. Okey Nwaforagu (alias Ochiagha Nkpor) wanted for armed robbery and kidnapping that took place in many parts of the state in recent time.
But the suspect denied being on the run, saying he was at the Zone nine headquarters of the police in Umuahia yesterday to complain about alleged invasion of his hotel.
The police said Nwaforagu was allegedly  involved in many armed robbery and kidnap incidents in the state and was said to be allegedly responsible for the murder of two policemen at a hotel owned by him at Nkpor in Idemili area of the state.
Specifically, the police said Nwaforagu, who hails from Enugwu–Umusiome village, Nkpor in Idemili North local government area, is wanted for unlawful possession of prohibited firearms, murder, kidnapping and armed robbery in many parts of the state.
It was gathered that though the police trailed him to his hideout, he disappeared before the arrival of security operatives.
However, Nwaforagu said his ordeal with the police was due to the petition he wrote against the police, adding that there was no reason for him to be on the run.
